Job Description
Job Title: Specialist fabricator Curtain Wall Storefront FRP/AL/HM Doors Frames & Hardware Sets. THIS PERSON PUTS THE WINDOWS AND DOORS TOGETHER TO BE SHIPPED ON THE TRUCK
Location: New Jersey-Based Projects

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly specialized Fabricator (we will need an Estimator with the same requirements to estimate the jobs) with deep technical expertise in Commercial Curtain Wall Systems Storefront Glazing FRP/AL/HM Doors Frames and Door Hardware Sets. This role is mission-critical for our growth in both public and private commercial projects throughout New Jersey. This role is ideal for a former installer or fabricator with strong field knowledge who is ready to translate that into precise pricing bid strategy and cost engineering especially for public bid environments governed by NJ public procurement law.
Core Technical Competencies:
Curtain Wall & Storefront Estimation (Division 8):
Understands unitized vs. stick-built curtain wall systems; proficient in pricing anchors embeds extrusions pressure plates covers and seals.
Experienced with aluminum storefront framing systems (center-glazed and offset systems) including punched openings entrances and mullion configurations.
Familiar with thermal break requirements impact-rated assemblies (if applicable) and NFRC/U-factor performance requirements for energy code compliance.
FRP Doors & Frames/HM Doors & Frames/AL Doors & Frames:
Able to interpret specifications for Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer (FRP) doors used in high-abuse cleanroom healthcare and corrosive environments.
Knowledge of manufacturers like Special-Lite Ceco Krieger Kawneer or Tiger Door.
Pricing includes door slab frame type (flush kerf double rabbet) gasketing glazing kits and reinforcement.
Commercial Door Hardware Sets:
Strong grasp of ANSI/BHMA hardware grades and applications: hinges pivots closers panic devices electrified hardware keying schedules and access control compatibility.
Familiar with specification writing and coordination of hardware sets and submittals.
Can communicate effectively with suppliers/distributors and coordinate templates cut sheets and hardware sets across disciplines.
Public Bidding (New Jersey-Focused):
Proven track record in estimating and submitting compliant bids under N.J.S.A. 18A:18A (Public School Contracts Law) N.J.S.A. 40A:11 (Local Public Contracts Law) and NJEDA/NJSDA.
Able to factor Prevailing Wage Rates certified payroll and labor classifications (non-union).
Experience preparing RFI logs addenda tracking base bids with alternates and DPMC Prequalification coordination a plus.
Software Proficiency:
Estimating Software: Partner Pak Glazier Studio GDS Estimating Ycalc X5 Storefronts Online
CAD/Shop Drawing Tools: AutoCAD Bluebeam Revu (for markup and takeoffs)
Cloud Collaboration Tools: Procore Builder or equivalent
Strong Excel skills for bid tabulation material matrixes and alternate pricing.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform material/labor takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings.
Prepare complete bid packages for GC and CM reviews aligned with timelines and public posting protocols.
Collaborate with internal teams vendors suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and scope alignment.
Lead and support post-bid clarification VE proposals scope reviews and change orders.
Participate in pre-bid walkthroughs jobsite evaluations and post-award project handoffs.
Preferred Qualifications:
15 years in architectural glazing industry (minimum 5 years estimating)
Deep familiarity with Division 8 specs: storefront curtain wall door assemblies and hardware
Prior experience with public works NJEDA schools
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
OSHA 30 LEED familiarity or NJ SDA experience is a plus
