Job Description

Travel Radiology/X-Ray Tech Contract Role

Location: Belton TX 76513
Shift: Variable Shift
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions of the Role:
  • Perform radiology procedures with high image quality in compliance with exam protocols.
  • Follow established standards for production and quality of imaging procedures.
  • Understand and monitor radiation dose reference levels and take necessary actions when doses exceed the limits including patient follow-up when needed.
  • Apply AIDET principles when communicating with patients to ensure correct procedures and patient comfort.
  • Explain procedures clearly to patients and assess their ability to tolerate the exam.
  • Prepare patients and exam areas: position patients set up equipment and adjust controls for exposure.
  • Ensure safety and infection control measures are followed including drug and radiation safety.
  • Utilize proper sterile techniques during invasive procedures and maintain hand hygiene.
  • Maintain equipment and clean work areas to meet quality standards.
  • Coordinate with engineers and physicists for equipment performance and optimization.

  • Ability to perform accurate timely radiologic procedures independently.
  • Strong communication skills to explain procedures and ease patient anxiety.
  • Adherence to safety regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Calm demeanor during high-stress situations and effective issue resolution.
  • First aid knowledge and emergency equipment usage capability.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction including reducing wait times and professional patient interaction.
  • Commitment to continued education and skill development.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an Accredited Program in Radiologic Technology
  • Experience: Less than 1 year of experience required
  • Certifications/Licenses:
    • ARRT-R (Radiography)-Required
