Job Description

RN ICU Neuro-Surgical (Permanent Role)

Location: Temple TX 76508
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: (36hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions:
  • Perform comprehensive clinical assessments identifying and prioritizing patient and family needs.
  • Develop implement and continually evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Modify care plans based on patient response and desired outcomes.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families managing discomfort while maintaining professionalism.
  • Develop care plans that align with patients values and help resolve health challenges.
  • Educate patients families peers and the community to promote informed healthcare decisions.
  • Regularly assess and document learning needs and progress.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to coordinate care.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and follow up to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Use multiple problem-solving strategies involving patients families and healthcare teams.
  • Recognize limitations in skills or knowledge and seek guidance when necessary.
  • Prioritize safety efficiency and patient-centered outcomes in all care activities.
  • Foster teamwork and recognize team contributions.
  • Support the professional development of peers and demonstrate a commitment to community service.
Key Success Factors:
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing practices patient care standards and clinical procedures.
  • Understanding of nursing regulations and compliance with local laws and guidelines.
  • Familiarity with hospital policies and procedural standards.
  • Strong grasp of medical terminology including disease prevention medication management and side effects.
  • Adherence to nursing ethics and commitment to patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities for working with diverse populations.
  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office email EMR systems scheduling tools and data security.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • RN license in good standing (Texas state).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already certified.
  • Minimum of 1 year ICU experience required.
