Job Description

RN-Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (Permanent Role)

Location: Temple TX 76502
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: (36hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients and prioritize clinical and family needs.
  • Develop implement and regularly update individualized care plans.
  • Provide education and resources to patients families and the community to support informed healthcare decisions.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families through professionalism empathy and effective communication.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Delegate tasks responsibly monitor outcomes and adjust care strategies accordingly.
  • Promote a culture of safety efficiency and accountability.
  • Mentor peers contribute to professional development and engage in community service activities.
Key Success Factors:
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing standards pediatric critical care procedures and applicable laws/regulations.
  • Strong grasp of medical terminology common medications and patient safety practices.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and basic computer programs including Microsoft Office.
  • Uphold nursing ethics patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN).
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (or compact state).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
