Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager with a strong background in machining and forging for a global component manufacturer within the Automotive industry. This position will lead all plant operations for a machining facility specializing in casting and forging machines. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can run production operations independently and drive operational excellence in a high-paced multicultural multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all daily operations of the machining plant including casting and forging machining processes.
- Ensure smooth independent production execution with minimal external involvement.
- Identify and resolve challenges related to machining processes and automation.
- Lead and manage all plant functions: production HR quality maintenance and supply chain.
- Develop and implement strategies for cost control cost reduction and productivity improvements.
- Maintain full P&L responsibility including managing budgets cost flows and balance sheets.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships understanding automotive industry expectations and standards.
- Leverage existing network and experience working with major global automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental regulations.
- Support cross-functional understanding of the entire supply chain to improve operational flow and efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in engineering Manufacturing Business or a related field.
- Minimum 4 5 years of experience as a Plant Manager or Plant Head or managing all functional departments.
- Proven expertise in machining operations preferably involving casting and forging.
- Strong knowledge and experience working in a high-paced automotive environment.
- Demonstrated ability to run a production plant independently in Mexico.
- Hands-on experience managing multicultural and multinational teams.
- Proven track record of collaborating with or supplying to major global automotive manufacturers and Tier 1 partners.
- Preferred: Dana Magna American Axle Eaton and Meritor
- Strong understanding of supply chain operations and ability to bridge any knowledge gaps within the team.
- Solid financial management experience including P&L cost control and cost reduction.
- Excellent leadership problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
Preferred Qualities:
- Proven success in overcoming machining and automation challenges.
- Strong customer-facing experience in the automotive sector.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives across function
