A Methods Engineer plays a vital role in planning designing and implementing construction methods and temporary works to support safe and efficient project execution. He/she acts as a bridge between design and site teams ensuring that the chosen construction techniques are both practical and aligned with engineering standards. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Temporary Works Design:
- Design and review temporary works such as scaffolding formwork access platforms shoring and support structures.
- Ensure designs are compliant with project specifications engineering standards and safety regulations.
- Site Implementation & Verification:
- Collaborate with site teams to ensure proper implementation of temporary works on site.
- Inspect and verify that temporary works are installed according to approved designs and method statements.
- Provide on-site technical support and guidance during the installation and removal of temporary structures.
- Lifting Operations:
- Prepare and/or review lifting plans for complex and heavy lifting operations.
- Coordinate with construction and HSE teams to ensure safe execution of lifting activities.
- Method Statements & Risk Assessments:
- Develop and validate method statements and related risk assessments for temporary works and lifting operations.
- Ensure alignment with BESIX safety protocols and local regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with construction safety and design teams to integrate temporary works into the overall construction plan.
- Liaise with third-party design checkers or consultants when necessary.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all temporary works designs approvals inspections and site verifications.
- Contribute to technical reports progress updates and audits.

Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Masters degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the design and implementation of temporary works in large-scale construction projects.
- Previous experience in stadium infrastructure or complex building projects is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g. BS EN OSHA ISO).
- Proficient in engineering software (e.g. AutoCAD Revit Staad Pro Robot Tekla Tedds etc.).
- Knowledge of lifting equipment and experience in preparing or reviewing lifting plans.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
