Job Description

The Media Strategy Director will lead the charge in developing and optimizing full-funnel cross-channel media strategies that drive measurable business results. They will play a key role in shaping the media direction for high-profile clients translating complex performance data into clear actionable insights and guiding internal teams to bring media strategies to life.

This is a hands-on high-impact role that requires deep knowledge of media planning and execution across digital traditional and emerging channels - along with the confidence and expertise to lead complex initiatives present to senior clients and partner closely with analytics creative and sales teams. 

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working independently and collaboratively. They can take high-level business challenges shared by clients ask the right questions and translate that input into actionable insight-driven media strategies. Whether working individually to develop a go-to-market plan or working cross-functionally with creative data and account teams they know how to connect the dots and build strategies that solve real problems and drive results.

Responsibilities:

  • Media Planning & Cross-Channel Strategy
    • Lead the development of integrated omnichannel media plans that align with client objectives audience behavior and business priorities
    • Evaluate and recommend the optimal media mix across digital traditional paid social programmatic print audio and emerging platforms
    • Interpret client challenges to build strategic media recommendations that connect message audience and performance
    • Work closely with creative brand strategy and data teams to ensure a seamless insights-driven planning process
    • Stay ahead of trends in media consumption platform innovation and retail behaviors to bring fresh thinking to every plan

 

  • Marketing Optimization & Execution
    • In partnership with analytics team analyze campaign results across platforms ensuring that performance aligns with KPIs and client expectations
    • Identify insights from data that can inform optimizations messaging adjustments targeting refinements or budget reallocations
    • Partner with sales media execution analytics and marketing teams to continuously test learn and improve outcomes
    • Deliver regular performance reports with clear storytelling actionable insights and forward-looking recommendations
    • Drive the development of learning agendas to guide continuous improvement and experimentation across campaigns

 

  • Client Consultation & Strategic Leadership
    • Act as a trusted strategic advisor to clients translating media performance and audience behavior into meaningful business impact
    • Present strategies results and new opportunities with clarity confidence and adaptability to a range of stakeholders
    • Lead discovery and strategy sessions to uncover client pain points align on objectives and co-create actionable media plans
    • Collaborate with account and creative teams to ensure cohesive delivery of integrated solutions
    • Proactively surface new ideas media innovations and thought leadership to help clients stay ahead in an evolving landscape.

 

 

 


Qualifications :

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. Bachelors degree in related discipline required
  • Graduate Degree. Higher education in data sciences economics analytic MBA or similar graduate degree preferred
  • 10 years of marketing strategy experience and large client relationship management

Skills and Certifications

  • Expert in developing compelling content and presentations that translate complex media strategies into clear actionable solutions enabling both internal teams and clients to align activate and drive results.
  • Demonstrated record of leading important marketing engagements and consulting initiatives for client organizations -- and building C Suite relationships. Ideally this experience comes from both client side tenures and senior agency/consultancy experience.
  • Deep expertise with all aspects of Marketing including strategic planning data analytics data management marketing technology designed testing media optimization etc.
  • Experience with cultivating and maintaining client executive relationships
  • Familiarity with analytic methodologies and Data Science practices and their role in shaping marketing strategy
  • Familiarity with Market Research techniques and strategies
  • Very strong written communication skills. Experience with direct client contact and effective presentations
  • Ability to interpret analytic findings and present them to non-technical audiences for the purpose of driving marketing and customer treatment strategies.
  • Expert level understanding of 1st 2nd and 3rd party data assets and their respective role in driving marketing performance
  • Strong understanding of marketing database strategies and applications -- coupled with an ability to draw actionable insights from marketing data for client benefit

 


Additional Information :

RRDs current salary range for this role is $00 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee and the range may change in the future. At RRD it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon but not limited to education skills experience proficiency performance shift and location. Depending on the role in addition to base salary the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus commission or incentive program.
