Responsibilities
The Monitor Tech is responsible for performing and editing EKGs for both inpatients and outpatients as well as conducting stress tests including pharmacologic and standard protocols.
- Proficient in performance of EKGS testing of both inpatients and outpatients.
- Proficient performing Stress Tests on outpatients and inpatients on pharmacologic as well as regular stress tests
- Performs editing of EKGs within the department and assists with the maintenance of the MUSE system.
- Handling of front desk duties of scheduling and coordinating of studies as needed.
- Maintains and organizes his unit with supplies and equipment.
- Completes special projects as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
Minimum:
- HS diploma or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Minimum of one year experience as cardiology technician or experience as a monitor technician
Basic EKG class or successful completion of the Basic Rhythm test
Current American Heart Association-issued BLS card
Preferred:
Previous skills in EKG and stress test performance
