Job Description

Best Buy Co. has openings in Richfield Minnesota for a Machine Learning Scientist position. This position provides a telecommuting benefit allowing the employee to reside anywhere in the continental United States. Develop machine learning solutions and services leveraging state-of-the-art techniques. Apply software engineering skills to develop and deploy solutions that can scale to millions of requests per second with millisecond latency. Write new functions or applications in programming languages to conduct analyses. Utilize broad and deep knowledge of machine learning and software engineering to contribute to the roadmap of Best Buys core machine learning capabilities. Analyze manipulate or process large sets of data using statistical software. Build real products that influence and enhance the lives of millions of people and drive and deliver tens of millions of dollars in impact to Best Buys bottom line. Research develop and apply cutting-edge machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to build innovative technologies services and products that solve the companys hardest problems and accelerate Best Buys core growth. Contribute to a team developing and operationalizing models algorithms and production quality codebases that form the core engines that unleash the next generation of customer experiences and transform the way Best Buy operates day-to-day. There are multiple positions available. Requires Masters degree or equivalent foreign degree in Mechanical Engineering Computer Science Software Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering. Position requires at least 2 years of experience (1) building ML and/or AI driven products; (2) data science/analytics programming languages (Python R and/or Julia); (3) supervised and unsupervised learning methods. This experience also includes at least 1 year of experience building production grade ML models using one or more deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow Keras PyTorch MXNet or ONNX). The pay ranges from $99029/year to $119163/year.
