Were looking for a passionate Sous Chef to bring fresh ideas and energy into the kitchen of a small warm residential care home rated Good by the CQC.
This is a chance to use your skills to bring joy flavour and nutrition to the daily lives of older residents. Youll be part of a friendly team where your cooking is valued your ideas are heard and your work has real purpose.
What Were Looking For
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role (care home healthcare education or contract catering experience an advantage)
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or higher)
- Knowledge of nutrition allergens and dietary requirements for older adults
- Passion for food and creativity in the kitchen
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Positive attitude and commitment to resident wellbeing

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of seasonal fresh meals tailored to residents preferences and dietary needs (including modified textures and special diets)
- Support the Head Chef with menu planning daily operations and kitchen organisation
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards in line with regulations
- Assist with stock rotation food ordering and storage
- Keep the kitchen clean safe and well-organised at all times
- Work collaboratively to create a calm respectful and efficient kitchen environment
