About the Role The Transport Officers main purpose is primarily to complete daily activities for the delivery exchange and collection of all TMHA equipment at branch premises. This includes monitoring and coordinating the safe movement of all TMHA equipment in accordance with Traffic Management procedures and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) procedures at the branch. This requires establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure deliveries and dispatch meet appropriate Australian Standards to achieve outcomes for TMHA and all its customers. The position will utilise Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA) systems and processes to ensure that all transport activities are proactively and efficiently undertaken on a daily basis. Key Duties & Responsibilities: - Complete key transport activities for the delivery exchange and collection of all TMHA equipment to and from the branch including dispatching associated paperwork.
- Coordinate the daily logistics of the equipment by maximising space in branch warehouse and ensure efficient movement of equipment in and out of the branch premises.
- Where directed monitor and implement Traffic Management procedures for the branch. This includes Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and Traffic Management plan. Ensure external transport suppliers on branch premises are compliant with Traffic Management and CoR Procedures with PDI and repairs.
- Monitor and provide guidance on Traffic Management plan and CoR for the branch.
- Record and inform management of any non-compliance with Traffic Management Procedures and CoR. Ensure relevant processes for CoR are in place for the branch.
- Carrying out the loading and unloading of all TMHA equipment at the branch including interstate Units in accordance with processes and procedures. This includes loading harnessing and unloading of units using the correct processes and relevant checks. This includes supporting all Demo RTW Sales Rental and Interstate movements.
- Record all relevant information relating to the movement of all TMHA equipment including recording hour meter readings on all de-hired TMHA equipment in the branch
- Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner and ensure that all relevant documentation is recorded in accordance with processes.
- Complete stock take when directed or required.
- Complete checks and monitor TMHA equipment to provide assistance to workshop with preparation of TMHA equipment.
- Carry out all duties in a safe manner to ensure the health and safety of yourself and all staff in accordance with TMHA policies and procedures.
Skills & Experience: - Current Forklift licence
- Current Drivers licence (Manual car)
- Training in safety and traffic management including CoR (desirable)
- Transport and logistics experience especially in relation to Traffic Management and CoR
- Materials Handling Equipment experience
- Strong customer service experience
- Safety knowledge and ability to enforce traffic management and CoR procedures at branch site and warehouse
- Wide knowledge of operating and using material handling equipment in a safe manner
- Able to work autonomously in a fast pace environment without supervision
- Organisational skills to ensure good order of warehouse
- Attention to detail using checklists and following processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills especially with external delivery drivers
- Multitasking and able to navigate through conflicting priorities in diligent manner.
