Job Description
Communities In Schools of Virginia (CIS-VA) is part of a national federated nonprofit committed to surrounding students with a community of support empowering their success in school and in life. The state office supports a statewide federation of six independent affiliates while pursuing and supporting the growth of new regional partnerships across the state. CIS-VAs current expansion efforts are focused on the Southside region of Virginia with growing partnerships in Greensville County Danville and Lunenburg County.
Job Summary
The Program Director (PD) will lead a team of CIS-VA Student Support Coordinators in Danville to ensure the quality implementation of the CIS model and work towards meeting school site benchmarks at assigned CIS locations. The Program Director will be the primary liaison between CIS and the school division administration to ensure strong partnership and elevate awareness of CISs impact. The Program Director will be responsible for the supervision direction and management of all day-to-day operations including budgets at these locations. The PD will be responsible for building relationships and partnerships with the communities schools principals and staff along with stakeholders with guidance and support of the Director of Emerging Programs.
Essential Functions
With the Director of Emerging Programs guide strategy for supporting CIS StudentSupport Coordinators (SSCs)and students.
Provide direction coaching and support to SSCs to deliver high quality CISmodel programming and ensure effective progress monitoring.
Conduct reviews of data ensuring program effectiveness consistent delivery of servicesand achievement of expected student program outcomes.
Develop effective trusting partnerships with school and district leaders where services are being delivered; conduct regular check-ins with school and district leaders to ensure expectations are met/exceeded and the partnership is proceeding effectively.
Support student support coordinators as they collaborate with school staff to accessidentify and prioritize student needs.
Develop strategic and diverse community partnerships designed to identify resources toenhance the services provided to CIS-VA students alongside the Director of EmergingPrograms.
Supervise the overall case management of identified students and delivery of evidence-based interventions and supports based on student and school needs.
Recruit train (with Director of Emerging Programs) and manage Student SupportCoordinators.
Prepare data reports quarterly alongside Student Support Coordinators for districtreview.
Oversee and participate in summer programming for all districts.
Conduct yearly performance reviews for Student Supports Coordinator alongsideDirector of Emerging Programs.
Perform other duties necessary for the successful operation of programs as assigned.
