Job Description

Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Department: Nuclear Medicine
Facility: Athena Medtech
Schedule: Full-Time Monday to Friday 7:30 AM 4:00 PM
Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Call Requirement: Weekend call (Saturday & Sunday 7:00 AM 1:00 PM) as needed

Position Summary

Athena Medtech is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Nuclear Medicine Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting diagnostic imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals maintaining equipment and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. This role requires proficiency in imaging technologies as well as strict adherence to safety and quality protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate gamma cameras and related imaging equipment to detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in the body for diagnostic purposes.

  • Accurately position patients and select appropriate anatomical and technical imaging parameters.

  • Order prepare administer and safely dispose of radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with regulatory standards.

  • Follow all radiation safety guidelines and institutional protocols.

  • Ensure the timely and accurate submission of high-quality images and supporting documentation to PACS including proper use of lead markers and accurate patient data/history.

  • Monitor equipment functionality reporting any malfunctions or potential issues promptly to appropriate personnel.

  • Implement lockout/tagout procedures for malfunctioning equipment as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Certification: ARRT (N) or CNMT required

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in nuclear medicine

  • Technical Skills: Experience with PACS EPIC and Nuc Trac systems preferred
