Job Description
- Provide occupational therapy services to adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
- Conduct patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based OT interventions to improve patients independence in daily living activities.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (PTs speech therapists nurses physicians) as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Educate patients and families regarding therapy goals progress and home care strategies.
- Accurately document treatments and patient progress using the Rehab Connect electronic health record system.
- Maintain a safe clean and motivating therapeutic environment.
- Serve a caseload of 6 patients per therapist in a 36-bed unit.
- Treat common diagnoses such as stroke general debility and hip fractures using equipment like Lite Gait walkers Sci Fit and treatment tables.
- Uphold the facilitys core values: act with kindness champion patient care and make a difference together.
- Work a guaranteed 40-hour work week (day shift) including Saturday coverage with no call or float requirements.
- Adhere to dress code (navy scrubs) and report to supervisor at 8:00 AM.
- Qualifications include a masters degree in Occupational Therapy Texas OT license BLS/CPR certification and at least 1 year of experience (inpatient rehab preferred).
