Job Description
- Provide evaluation and treatment for patients with communication cognitive-linguistic and swallowing disorders in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting.
- Develop and implement personalized evidence-based therapy plans to improve patient independence and quality of life.
- Deliver direct therapy services to a diverse patient population including those with traumatic brain injury (TBI) spinal cord injury (SCI) and orthopedic trauma.
- Work closely with an interdisciplinary team (PTs OTs nurses physicians) to coordinate care and achieve rehabilitation goals.
- Educate patients families and staff on therapeutic techniques compensatory strategies and discharge planning.
- Accurately document assessments treatments and patient progress using the Cerner EHR system.
- Participate in team conferences care planning meetings and discharge coordination.
- Maintain California SLP license and (preferably) ASHA CCC-SLP certification; BLS certification preferred.
- Utilize strong clinical skills in dysphagia management neuro rehab and cognitive-linguistic therapy.
- Exhibit strong organizational documentation and communication skills.
- Demonstrate flexibility teamwork and a passion for patient-centered rehabilitation care within an academic health environment.
