Job Description

Job Summary:

This role is for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) in an outpatient orthopedic neurology and spine clinic. The CMA/RMA will provide patient care administrative support and assist with procedures. This is a temporary-to-hire position with a 13-week contract after which the clinic may offer permanent employment.
Location: Cary North Carolina United States
Responsibilities:
- Obtaining vital signs (blood pressure respirations temperature pulse).
- Recording patient history medications and allergies.
- Preparing charts and handling patient refills and appointment scheduling.
- Assisting with US-guided injections.
- Rooming patients and performing exam preparation.
- Administering medications (as allowed by certification and state regulations).
- Making follow-up phone calls.
- Assisting with casting and splinting (preferred).
- Performing telephone triage (preferred).
- Set up and assist with procedures (preferred).
- Utilizing the Epic electronic health record system.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CMA or RMA.
- Experience in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Experience with orthopedic neurology and spine patients.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and preparing patients for exams.
- Experience with chart preparation medication administration (as allowed by certification and state regulations) and patient communication.
- BLS certification.
- CMA or RMA certification (not both).
- Epic EHR experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in surgery.
- Experience with casting and splinting.
- Telephone triage skills.
- Suture removal skills.
Special Considerations:
- This is a temporary-to-hire position with a 13-week contract.
- RTO (Return to Office) after booking is not allowed.
- Candidate must bring their own stethoscope.
- Clinic will not accept first-time travelers.
- Specific scrub requirements are in place (navy blue scrubs with white or black undershirt).
Scheduling:
- 40 hours per week Monday-Friday.
- 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM shift.
- No call float or weekend requirements.
