Job Title: Labor & Delivery RN (FT/Nights)
Location: Houston TX
Job Type: Full-Time Night Shifts

Overview:

At Client we are committed to creating healthier communities now and for generations to come. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team at Client Childrens Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. This is a full-time night shift position in a Level 4 Maternal Designated Facility that performs approximately 400 450 deliveries per month.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive high-acuity environment where youll be at the heart of one of lifes most important moments-childbirth.

Position Details:
  • Location: Client TMC/Childrens Hospital

  • Unit: Labor & Delivery

  • Shift: Full-Time Nights (12-hour shifts)

  • Facility: Level 4 Maternal Care Designation

  • Unit Capacity: 12 labor beds 19 antepartum beds 4 swing beds

  • Deliveries: 400 450 per month

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (BSN preferred)

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current RN license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas

  • BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) required

  • Additional certifications as required per unit standards (e.g. NRP)

Experience:

  • Preferred: 1 to 1.5 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience

  • Client classifies RNs by years of experience:

    • RN I: < 1 year

    • RN II: 1 3 years

    • RN III: 3 10 years

    • RN IV: 10 years

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver compassionate evidence-based care to laboring patients and families.

  • Utilize the nursing process to perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans.

  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.

  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labor delivery and immediate postpartum period.

  • Administer medications assist with exams procedures and emergency interventions.

  • Document all patient interactions and nursing actions accurately and timely.

  • Adhere to all clinical protocols safety standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Serve as a mentor or preceptor to new or less experienced staff members.

  • Promote patient-centered care and optimize the overall patient and family experience.

  • Support unit goals and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
