Job Title: Labor & Delivery RN (FT/Nights)

At Client we are committed to creating healthier communities now and for generations to come. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team at Client Childrens Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. This is a full-time night shift position in a Level 4 Maternal Designated Facility that performs approximately 400 450 deliveries per month.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive high-acuity environment where youll be at the heart of one of lifes most important moments-childbirth.
Position Details:Location: Client TMC/Childrens Hospital
Unit: Labor & Delivery
Shift: Full-Time Nights (12-hour shifts)
Facility: Level 4 Maternal Care Designation
Unit Capacity: 12 labor beds 19 antepartum beds 4 swing beds
Deliveries: 400 450 per month
Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (BSN preferred)
Licenses/Certifications:
Current RN license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) required
Additional certifications as required per unit standards (e.g. NRP)
Experience:
Preferred: 1 to 1.5 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
Client classifies RNs by years of experience:
RN I: < 1 year
RN II: 1 3 years
RN III: 3 10 years
RN IV: 10 years
Deliver compassionate evidence-based care to laboring patients and families.
Utilize the nursing process to perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
Monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labor delivery and immediate postpartum period.
Administer medications assist with exams procedures and emergency interventions.
Document all patient interactions and nursing actions accurately and timely.
Adhere to all clinical protocols safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Serve as a mentor or preceptor to new or less experienced staff members.
Promote patient-centered care and optimize the overall patient and family experience.
Support unit goals and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
