Job Description

Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week travel contract. The IR Tech will work alongside radiologists and nursing teams to perform a wide range of complex vascular genitourinary and interventional procedures. This role demands a high level of technical proficiency in scrubbing circulating and equipment setup in interventional settings. Candidates must have at least 1 year of recent IR Tech experience and be proficient with various vascular closure systems and angiographic procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in a broad range of vascular abdominal pelvic and genitourinary interventional radiology procedures

  • Scrub in and maintain sterile technique during procedures

  • Act as room circulator manage patient positioning and equipment operation

  • Interpret cardiac dysrhythmias during procedures

  • Prepare and operate imaging equipment; manage radiation safety protocols

  • Set up rooms ensure proper functioning of supplies instruments and vascular closure systems (Perclose StarClose)

  • Assist in post-procedural care and documentation using any required charting system

Key Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Interventional Radiology Tech experience

  • Must be skilled in scrub and circulate responsibilities

  • Comfortable with a wide variety of abdominal pelvic genitourinary and vascular interventions

  • Must be able to interpret dysrhythmias and assist with cardiac cath lab procedures

  • Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced procedural environment

  • Willingness to work 4x10-hour day shifts

  • No travel experience required

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of direct experience in Interventional Radiology

  • Prior experience with laser-assisted and electrophysiology studies preferred

License:

  • Must have valid ARRT (R) or equivalent certification

  • Must hold valid state license (if applicable)

  • Certification in IR preferred but not required

Certifications:

  • Required: BLS

  • Preferred: ACLS

Skills:

  • Cardiac/EP: Dysrhythmia interpretation electrophysiology studies

  • Scrub/Circulate: Room setup maintaining sterile field equipment handling

  • Abdominal/Pelvic: Angioplasty Aortography Chemoembolization Liver Biopsy Stent placement

  • Genitourinary: Nephrostomy Gastrostomy Renal Artery Stent Ureteral Stent Embolization

  • Vascular: Endovascular interventions vascular closure systems

  • Systems: Familiarity with any hospital-approved charting system (EPIC preferred)
