Job Summary:
This Surgical Technologist position requires a minimum of one year of experience and involves 12-hour shifts with varying start times (7 am 9 am 11 am). The role encompasses a variety of surgical cases in an outpatient and community hospital setting including Orthopedic Neurological and Vascular procedures. Weekend work is required (3 weekends per schedule) along with one weeknight per week and every other or third weekend on-call duty.
Location: Santa Rosa California United States.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assisting the surgical team during procedures.
- Maintaining a sterile surgical field.
- Scrubbing in for surgical procedures.
- Assisting with patient positioning and draping.
- Passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon.
- Monitoring the patients vital signs during surgery.
- Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment after procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records of surgical procedures.
- Adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum one year of surgical technologist experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work weekends and on-call shifts.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with inpatient trauma or a wider range of surgical specialties.
- National Surgical Technologist certification.
Special Considerations:
- On-call requirements include one weeknight per week and every second or third Saturday or Sunday from 7:00 am to 7:00 am (20-minute response time).
- All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted in advance and are subject to facility approval based on staffing needs.
- The facility may call off one shift per two weeks.
- First-time surgical technologists are accepted.

- Three weekend shifts per schedule are required.
- On-call one weeknight per week and every second or third weekend.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
