Job Title : Linux System Administrator
Job Type : C2C / W2
Experience : 8-15 Years
Location : San Jose California (On-Site)
Responsibilities:
Hands-on experience as a System Administrator in mixed OS environments (Linux & Windows).
Strong knowledge of OS-level patching package managers (YUM APT Chocolatey) and scheduled maintenance.
Experience with virtualization platforms: VMware ESXi Hyper-V or similar.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP) in a hybrid environment.
Familiarity with backup and recovery tools (e.g. Veeam Acronis Bacula).
Good understanding of system monitoring tools like Nagios Zabbix SolarWinds or Prometheus.
Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP DNS DHCP).
Scripting ability in Bash PowerShell or Python for automation.
Certifications like RHCSA/RHCE MCSA/MCSE or VMware VCP.
Exposure to configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible Puppet Chef).
Manage and maintain Linux and Windows-based operating systems across development test and production environments.
Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly; monitor system performance and availability.
Provision configure and maintain Virtual Machines (VMs) using tools such as VMware Hyper-V or KVM.
Configure and monitor backup systems to ensure data integrity and quick disaster recovery.
Perform routine system checks file integrity monitoring and log reviews.
Automate repetitive tasks using shell scripting PowerShell or configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible).
Maintain system documentation and procedures.
Collaborate with network security and application teams for integrated support.
Ensure system security through firewalls user access controls and vulnerability management.
Qualifications:
Bachelors in engineering computer science or any other related field.
