Job Description
Managing teams activities to design new products modify existing designs improve production techniques and develop procedures. Interfaces Prior
Experience/Expertise Required
Review and monitor work of Structural design personnel as required to assure accuracy and conformance with Client and / or Company
Specifications governing codes good engineering practices good safety practices project procedures and job requirements.
Monitor Structural design progress as required to assure conformance to budget and schedule.
Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in all pertinent aspects of the discipline including design modeling drafting products applicable codes and
construction practices related to assigned projects.
Advise and assist project and discipline designers with the interpretation and clarification of applicable industry Codes and Client Specification
requirements.
Advise and assist Construction Managers QA/QC and Sub-contractors with the interpretation and clarification of construction documents.
Provide input to the Lessons learned process and utilize findings from the process to update tools and processes.
Applies advanced technical solutions to address issues.
The job has an advisory role and influence over the direction of an engineering discipline that is key to SLB.
The decisions the job influence or advises on at this level will make a contribution to determining technical developments.
This level has responsibility to drive cost-effective solutions in deliverables.
Supervise the outsourcing of structural engineering design work.
Conduct technical training sessions covering Codes and industry Standards requirements & design softwares for fresh designers.
Assist in developing SLB Standards for SLB products.
Perform or check structural model and drawing as per engineering input
Perform or check structural connection design and design of lifting and other pre-service checks as required.
Provide necessary dimensional sketches and engineering instructions to Drafting Department as required.
Assist other locations and branches with structural engineering design as required.
Provide or check preliminary structural beams weights.
Review as-built drawings as required to ensure conformity.
Maintain check prints and check list as per ISO quality system.
Represent SLB structural discipline with customers during client meets
Ability to work as a team member with various SLB departments associated with designing estimating fabricating operating and selling the
equipment.
Good knowledge of technical aspects of oil and gas products and processes (SLB products/processes preferred).
In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
Hands-on experience in TEKLA modeling and detailing of OFFSHORE and ONSHORE structures Skids & Equipment Ladder and Platforms.
