Job Description
Planning for existing projects:
Formulate long-term and short-term plans to optimize shipyard operations and resource utilization.
Prepare Macro Plan clearly identifying workload in each Section of Production month wise and
indicate efficiency norms and stage wise lead times assumed for preparation of the Macro Plan.
Distribute Micro Plan to various concerned Sections of Production Department as well as Design
Maintenance Quality and Supply Chain Management.
Conduct discussion with each Department/Section and finalize Macro Plan with Production where
monthly targets are clearly agreed upon
Asset Utilization Optimization:
Monitor the usage of large assets and resources to ensure high utilization rates identifying
opportunities to improve efficiency or reassign resources as needed.
Conduct utilization analysis for dry docks fit-out berths and fabrication areas to determine under-
or over-utilization working to resolve bottlenecks and resource conflicts.
Propose and implement process improvements for resource scheduling and allocation ensuring
seamless operations and reduced idle time for key assets.
Coordination with Project Teams:
Collaborate closely with project managers production teams and department heads to align
resource plans with project milestones and requirements.
Communicate resource availability and constraints to project stakeholders facilitating adjustments
to schedules and plans as needed.
Act as a key liaison between production and support teams to resolve resource-related conflicts and
ensure alignment with project timelines.
Tracking & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of resource allocation and utilization documenting asset schedules shifts
in allocation and reasons for reassignments.
Generate regular reports on resource usage allocation efficiency and any potential shortages or
constraints affecting project timelines.
Present utilization data forecasts and planning insights to the Project Manager and senior
management supporting informed decision-making on resource investments and reallocation.
Risk Management & Contingency Planning:
Identify potential risks related to resource availability such as equipment breakdowns manpower
shortages or schedule conflicts and develop mitigation strategies.
Create contingency plans to manage unexpected demands or disruptions in resource availability
ensuring continuity of operations.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance on critical assets
minimizing the risk of unplanned downtime.
