Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist Expert (767535)
Location: Durham County Region 2 Durham NC (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months contract

Job Description:

The North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) Transportation division is seeking an Expert Desktop Support Specialist to join the Client Services Team for Region 2 Durham County.

This is a 100% onsite role requiring regular travel within the assigned region. The specialist will support high volumes of service desk requests hardware setups and software-related issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site desktop support for users across region 2.
  • Evaluate and prioritize IT incidents and problem service desk tickets.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while proactively building positive client relationships.
  • Install and image new computers; load required software and tools.
  • Install configure and troubleshoot local and network printers and other peripherals.
  • Migrate user data and profiles between systems.
  • Maintain and update documentation of procedures and technical processes.
  • Use ServiceNow to update ticket statuses and work progress.
  • Lead small-scale projects and direct work of others when necessary.
  • Implement system security requirements in line with DOT and ITS security standards.
  • Ensure compliance with IT Security Office policies to protect data and systems.
