Academy Animal Hospitalis a long-standing general practice for small animals with deep ties to the community located in beautiful Solana Beach California. Our goal is compassionate and quality pet care for every pet we see. We strive to make each pet and client feel like a part of our family. We are a Multi-Doctor practice that prides itself on the services offered to our patients and clients. Our hospital is very established in the Solana Beach area with multi-generational clients and patients. Who Were Looking For:
We are looking for aVeterinary Assistantto join our veterinary care team and provide medical anesthetic and surgical assistance as needed. Our next team member must be a bright responsible self-motivated individual who is in it for the animals and their owners. He or she must be comfortable with speaking to owners providing and explaining treatment plans and triage. Proficiency in anesthesia dentistry and animal nursing is crucial.

Qualifications
Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT RVT or LVT) preferred or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not .
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians with exams treatments and surgical procedures.
Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean organized work environment.
