As part of our growing telehealth division we are seeking a Remote Associate Optometrist to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to deliver exceptional virtual eye care and consultation services to patients from the comfort of your own location.
Position Summary
The Remote Associate Optometrist will provide virtual eye care consultations assessments and follow-ups using secure telehealth platforms. You will collaborate with other healthcare professionals review patient histories provide clinical guidance and support patients with a wide range of eye health needs. This is an excellent opportunity for optometrists who enjoy clinical care value flexibility and seek to leverage technology to increase access to vision health.
Key Responsibilities
Perform virtual consultations and eye assessments via secure telehealth platforms
Review patient histories symptoms and diagnostic information to provide clinical evaluations
Provide guidance and treatment plans for eye health conditions including referrals when necessary
Collaborate with WeCares interdisciplinary medical team to coordinate care
Document patient interactions diagnoses and recommendations in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Educate patients on eye health disease prevention and treatment options
Ensure compliance with state and federal telehealth regulations and guidelines
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards
Participate in clinical team meetings and training sessions as needed
Qualifications
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school
Active unrestricted optometry license in at least one U.S. state (multi-state licensure a plus)
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred though recent graduates with strong telehealth interest may be considered
Experience with or willingness to learn tele-optometry practices and technologies
Excellent verbal communication patient interaction and clinical documentation skills
Comfortable using EMR systems and telehealth platforms
High-speed internet connection and a private professional environment for conducting virtual visits
Work Authorization Requirement
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or have a valid U.S. Work Permit.
