Job Description
Location:NY - New York City (Hybrid)
The Role:
We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join the SoFi Money team. As an engineering leader you will be instrumental in the support of the growth of the Money product. We are working hard to build a platform to enable our teams to scale our customer base while effectively serving and delighting our existing members. Our goal is to constantly build tools for SoFi Money team members in order to ensure the trust and safety of our members while keeping efficiency and operational excellence as our top priorities.
The ideal candidate is a technical leader who can both drive change through others and guide the overall vision of their team. We are looking for engineering leaders who can bring fresh perspectives thought leadership vision and help us scale for the future. At SoFi we pride ourselves on the collaboration between Product Operations and Engineering so you will be involved in the entire product lifecycle from ideation implementation deployment continued improvement and evolution.
What Youll Do
- Lead the development and testing of our internal money servicing tools and services
- Work with leaders from internal teams to understand what problems need to be addressed
- Advocate for the needs of our back office staff to improve their effectiveness and quality of life
- Participate in shaping the technical architecture of the product
- Help translate user stories into technical solutions
- Deliver highly available and scalable services in a production environment
- Mentor engineers support the technical culture and help grow the team
- Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies
- Communicate with project leads product managers and other software developers
What Youll Need
- Bachelors Degree in a technical field
- 4 years programming experience ideally on a modern stack
- Our core stack is Java/Kotlin/Spring/PostgreSQL/React/Flutter
- Our data stack is Python/DBT/Snowflake
- 4 years Java Kotlin or Scala experience and an understanding of relational databases and ORMs
- 2 years management experience
- The ability to maintain code quality performance and sound architectural practices across teams
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves collaborate with others and get stuff done
- Exceptional sense of responsibility; driving a project from inception to completion
- Affinity for solving problems and shipping impactful features.
Nice To Have
- Experience working in highly regulated environments
- Machine Learning and automated decision experience
- Experience working with internal customers and servicing teams
- Good understanding of SOLID practices
