Job Description
Part-Time School Counselor
Private Elementary School Montclair NJ (Early Ages-8th Grade)
We are a small mission-driven private elementary school in Montclair NJ seeking a compassionate and experienced Part-Time School Counselor to support the social-emotional needs of our students and to provide support for our faculty and staff as needed.
This is an in person part time position for 2-3 hours per day from Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Provide short-term individual and group counseling to students in grades K8
- Collaborate with teachers administrators and families to support students emotional and behavioral well-being
- Support the schools social-emotional learning program
- Respond to student needs and provide crisis intervention when necessary
- Offer guidance and referrals to families when appropriate
- Work closely with the Head of School on all student and family issues.
- Qualifications:
- Masters degree in school counseling psychology social work or a related field
- Prior experience working with elementary-age children in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school culture
