Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SMT Operator II to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up operating and maintaining MyData MY9 and MY9E surface mount pick-and-place machines as well as Ekra solder screen print machines. This role requires attention to detail adherence to production schedules and compliance with customer specifications. Additional responsibilities may include general assembly inspection and functional testing.
Shifts:
1st Shift - Monday to Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM
2nd Shift - Monday to Thursday from 2:00PM to 12:30AM
Responsibilities
Review document packages to ensure accurate setup and execution of SMT processes.
Set up and operate MyData MY9 and MY9E surface mount pick-and-place machines.
Utilize MyPlan software for feeder designation and MYBOM planning.
Set up and operate manual and semi-automatic Ekra solder screen print machines.
Perform screen printing of solder paste onto raw printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Label load and verify components in feeder locations according to specifications.
Maintain and complete required documentation including MyData Checklist (MFG-FRM-019).
Conduct routine maintenance on MyData (My9 and My9E) and Ekra solder stencil machines.
Keep work area clean and organized before starting new assemblies.
Assist and train other operators as needed to meet production requirements.
Perform additional assembly work including conformal coating in-process inspection and functional testing.
Order solder stencils from Great Lakes Engineering or other pre-approved vendors.
Communicate with customers via email regarding BOM discrepancies (e.g. missing BOM CAD issues part-to-pad mismatches).
Follow safety procedures company policies and OSHA regulations.
Skill and Qualifications:
3 years of SMT machine operation experience particularly with MyData equipment.
Basic reading and math skills for understanding technical documents.
Ability to use common hand tools and operate specialized machinery.
High school diploma or GED required.
Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with others effectively.
Frequent handling of moderate to heavy components (up to 25 lbs).
Ability to stand walk or sit for extended periods during shifts.
