Job Description

Support our companys IT infrastructure as needed. This role requires a reliable knowledgeable technician who can assist with hardware issues software updates network troubleshooting and server management both on-premises and in the cloud.

Employment Type:

1099 Contractor (Hourly On-Call)

Prior Experience:

Mid-level experience preferred. 23 years of hands-on IT support system administration or related technical experience. Preferred degree or certification in Computer Science Computer Engineering Information Technology Network Administration or Cybersecurity.Should include practical experience with hardware software and network management as well as familiarity with both AWS (Amazon Web Services) and on-premise server administration. Formal education or technical certifications may substitute for direct experience.

Duties:

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across desktop and server systems.
  • Maintain and manage local office network infrastructure (wired and wireless).
  • Perform updates upgrades and general maintenance of IT systems.
  • Administer and troubleshoot on-site servers.
  • Assist with AWS resource management and basic cloud infrastructure support.
  • Maintain security best practices across local and cloud systems.
  • Provide general IT support to staff as needed.
  • Document work performed and maintain logs of tasks and updates.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Solid understanding of PC and Mac hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Network administration (basic routing DHCP static IPs firewall configurations).
  • In-house server management (Windows or Linux).
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for small-scale deployment and management.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly.
  • Dependable and responsive to support requests.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with backup systems and disaster recovery planning
  • Cybersecurity knowledge and best practices
  • Familiarity with remote support tools
  • Light scripting (PowerShell Bash or similar)
  • Experience supporting small business environments
  • Degree or certification in Computer Science Computer Engineering Information Technology Network Administration or Cybersecurity.

Location:

Primarily at our Corporate Office in Salt Lake City Utah. Remote work may be allowed depending on the task.

Immediate Supervisor: Jerry Thun

Wage Type:

Hourly (as-needed basis)

Hours:

Variable - work is on-call / project-based. May range from multiple days in a week to no work for several weeks.

Schedule:

Flexible. Support needed during business hours (MF 8am6pm) but some off-hours support may occasionally be required.
