Extended Term Substitute Grade 3 Teacher

Available September 202 through no later than November 2025

The Opportunity:

The Graham and Parks School is seeking a talented Extended Term Substitute (ETS) Grade 3 Teacher to join our caring and innovative learning community. The successful candidate will have experience planning implementing and adapting curriculum based on the Massachusetts State Frameworks and the Common Core. They will set high expectations for all students and utilize scaffolding and differentiation to support students. The teacher will have an appreciation and awareness for the unique developmental needs of young people in this age band. As a professional the teacher will display a collegial spirit that supports and enhances continual professional growth consistent with the educational goals and philosophies of the Graham and Parks School and be fully committed to continuously learning improving reflecting and working together as a community to ensure that all students achieve at high levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with all team members including but not limited to special educators instructional coaches paraprofessionals interventionists and other support personnel
  • Develop integrated project-based units with other members of the teaching team
  • Incorporate a variety of assessment strategies including district wide exams and formative assessment in order to inform instruction and target intervention and enrichment needs
  • Integrate social learning into the classroom and will work to foster a safe caring and active learning community
  • Partner with families and include them in the students learning and development as well as encourage families to further the mission of the school
  • Build on established partnerships with surrounding community institutions and organizations

Your Skill Set:

As the incoming ETS Grade 3 Teacheryou will possess many though perhaps not all of the following characteristics and qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required Masters degree preferred
  • At least two years of full time classroom instruction
  • Massachusetts State Certification in Elementary preferred
  • Experience working in an urban educational setting including the ability to work successfully with students colleagues and families from diverse ethnic cultural and socio-economic backgrounds preferred
  • A strong work ethic alongside a commitment to doing whatever it takes for students to excel
