Clayton Utz is a top Australian law firm acting for a range of domestic and global private sector and government clients. Our Data Intelligence group is one of the countrys fastest growing forensic cyber and data analytics practices and is an integral and thriving part of the firm.
Our Data Intelligence practice as part of our broader Advisory Risk & Regulation stream collaborates seamlessly with our legal practice groups to provide a full suite of forensic technology services to our clients including forensic accounting and investigation data analytics cyber security and eDiscovery.
The Role
We are seeking a talented and driven Senior Consultant to join our Data Intelligence team in Sydney on a full-time basis.
The role requires the use of advanced data analytics and visualisation technology to deliver bespoke analytical solutions and support forensic investigation and quantification engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop test and validate analytical scripts in SQL and Python to quantify legal-related issues;
Consult with multiple stakeholders and develop bespoke data analytics procedures and solutions;
Extract validate transform and load data from multiple data sources;
Develop small scripts using API integrations to various software tools including Relativity;
Review of code written by colleagues clients and other stakeholders;
Produce correct documentation for work performed;
Support senior team members in the preparation and presentation of client deliverables in a clear structured manner;
Work in cross-functional teams with other FTS team members and lawyers from practice groups across the firm;
Proactively manage own workload meet set KPIs and accurately record time spent on tasks.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will have 3 years experience with a background within quantitative development or data analytics. You will also have:
Tertiary qualifications that include relevant components of Computer Science Actuarial Statistics Mathematics or Physics with strong academic performance;
Excellent skills analysing data and developing quantitative models using tools including SQL and Python;
A proven ability to ensure accuracy of calculations including validating data of unknown quality;
Strong project management and delivery skills demonstrating the ability to prioritise tasks effectively;
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and positively influence clients and colleagues;
A positive and hard-working team player with a genuine desire to join a high-performing and collegiate practice.
