Accountant II

Position Overview

Shaw Industries is searching for an Accountant at Plant 81 to be responsible for the preparation of the weekly and monthly POVA raw material inventory and cycle counts. This position will also assist the I.E. Manager in annual business plan creation budgeting costing guidelines and other financial reports as directed by the IE Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with creating and updating the annual Business Plan

  • Responsible for Bridge explanation of differences in Actual vs Projected Variances

  • Ensure regular cycle counts are conducted for Raw Materials WIP Finished Goods and the Supply Room to maintain the corporate exemption from year-end counts.

  • Responsible for financial reporting for the plant including budgeting POVA and related reports

  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures by coordinating work through the Corporate Manufacturing Accounting Group

  • Complies with month-end closing information requirements and deadlines as defined by the Corporate Manufacturing Accounting Group

  • Comply with reporting deadlines as established by Corporate Manufacturing Management

  • Responsible for calculating and monitoring all raw material usage on a weekly and monthly basis. Reconciling physical inventory at month end

  • Responsible for reporting month end chargebacks and journal entry adjustments

  • Responsible for plant accounting duties

  • Responsible for providing information for annual budgets including labor budgets weekly expenses packing costs and productions standards. Ensure the submission of all changes to the appropriate areas. Will coordinate work with the IE Manager to accomplish

  • Responsible for administering S.O.X and records management systems and ensuring compliance as the records coordinator

  • Responsible for analyzing budgets and POVA for variance discrepancies and initiating investigations to make process improvement recommendations

  • Work with IE Group to update and maintain Product Costing guidelines

  • Responsible for M.O. Control Lead and Accounting Clerk

  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly variance projection explanations

  • Responsible for and manage all inventories at Plant 81 and Plant 01 (Raw Materials WIP Packing Materials Yarn Cycle Counts etc.)

  • Prepare QIT and COQ graphs for QIT Meetings

  • Attend periodic departmental meetings as well as training that will foster continued job improvement.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the IE Manager

  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and work without close supervision

  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and communications skills

  • Maintain and Follow the Accounting Leader Standard Work document

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Accounting Business Management IE or similar field

  • 2 years of Plant or Company level financial experience.
