Purpose:
The Department of Civil Environmental and Sustainable Engineering at Santa Clara University (SCU) a Jesuit Catholic university seeks applications for a full-time position at the rank of Lecturer beginning in Fall 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching
various lectures and labs in civil engineering including but not limited to surveying solid mechanics soil mechanics construction materials and other relevant courses as needed. The position also involves taking part in managing teaching and research laboratories. Teaching
responsibilities typically include nine quarter-long course equivalents over three academic quarters scholarly or professional activities that support intellectual growth as an engineer and service to the Department College and University. The teaching load may be partially offset by
the candidates contributions to laboratory management.
Lecturers are appointed for a term of one year. Reappointment to subsequent terms is possible depending on evidence of superior performance in teaching persistent programmatic need and availability of funds.
