Principal Consultant SAP Security

Our client is undertaking a major enterprise transformation initiative focused on securing SAP HANA environments. This role is part of a high-performing team delivering expert-level consulting and implementation services across complex security-sensitive projects. The environment is collaborative fast-paced and committed to excellence in enterprise security.
About the role:
We are seeking a Principal Consultant specialising in SAP HANA Application Security. The successful candidate will lead security assessments implement robust controls and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions. This is a hands-on client-facing role requiring deep technical expertise and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on-site in Canberra five days per week.
- Provide expert consulting in SAP HANA Application Security implementation and management.
- Lead risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for SAP HANA systems.
- Collaborate with clients to understand security needs and design customised solutions.
- Conduct training and knowledge-sharing workshops for clients and internal teams.
- Stay current with SAP HANA security trends and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of methodologies tools and processes.
- Support project bids and proposals with technical input and estimates.
- Travel as required for on-site consultations and implementations.
Required Experience:
Technical Skills:
- Minimum 7 years in SAP HANA Application Security consulting.
- Strong understanding of SAP HANA architecture database security and user authorisation.
- Experience with RBAC Segregation of Duties (SoD) and data encryption.
- Proficiency with SAP HANA Cockpit SAP Solution Manager and SAP NetWeaver Administrator.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 27001 GDPR and HIPAA.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
Professional Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Baseline security clearance required; NV1 eligibility essential.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- SAP HANA or related certifications.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of threat modelling and secure coding practices.
- Familiarity with security testing tools and methodologies.
