Position Summary
Career Readiness Learning Objectives: Communication-The GA will work closely work with the AES faculty and will set up open lab hours for numerous courses in the AES curriculum. The GA will be required to communicate with the faculty to develop schedules for open student lab hours. Professionalism-The GA will be required to lead discussions during the open lab session and to assist students with questions and making up required course and lab work. Graduate Assistants in the Applied Exercise Science Graduate Program will be required to: 1. Teach lab courses pertaining to Kinesiology Exercise Physiology Exercise Testing & Prescription and Care & Prevention of Athletic Injuries 2. Assist in lab practical testing situations. 3. Conduct open lab hours for undergraduate students. 4. Help lead and conduct exercise testing on student-athletes and community members in the Human Performance Lab ( HPL ). 5. Assist faculty in the Applied Exercise Science department with new and ongoing research projects. 6. Assist faculty in departmental administrative duties.
Physical Demands
Must be able to meet the physical and technical demands of busy office classroom and laboratory settings established for teaching and research within the discipline of exercise science.
Required Qualifications
Applicants for the Applied Exercise Science Graduate Assistant position should possess the following qualifications: 1. Current graduate student in the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences . 2. Familiarity with lab equipment used in exercise testing. 3. Comfortable with public speaking. 4. Capacity to communicate ideas and techniques to different groups. 5. Willingness to work closely with AES department faculty.
