Job Summary:

The Associate Director IT will provide overall leadership for VUMCs IT hardware and software asset management needs across the organization and will work with Information Technology department(s) by developing goals objectives policies and procedures surrounding asset management. This position will begin the process of establishing a team to organize these IT assets mitigate risks to the enterprise and pursue opportunities for improvements in our asset management processes across VUMC. This position will establish governance and quality control throughout the lifecycle of the assets. This position will work in concert with the Executive Director to facilitate and develop a multi-tiered approach to further secure the enterprise and maximize efficiency within the organization in both fiscal and human capital as well as prepare operating budgets and perform personnel administration functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops goals and objectives for the department based on interpretation of institutional policy and goals.

  • Ensures the most effective operations of the department through program development process improvement and coordination/integration of processes with other departments.

  • Identifies establishes and evaluates quality assurance standards programs and procedures within department.

  • Apply a continuous improvement approach in enhancing the strategies employed in technology spending as well as in tracking company assets within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) throughout their lifecycle.

  • Ensure effective management of the CMDB and that the content contained is accurate

  • Provide KPI/Metric information and standardized reporting on a scheduled basis together with unscheduled reporting demanded by management

  • Generate and distribute various reports including compliance reports on current assets and CIs and their status; also perform trend analyses

  • Perform verification of software assets with license contracts confirm hardware assets with actual inventory and initiate corrective actions and tract them

  • Manage activities concerning license compliance audits to be able to answer to requests from software editors effectively

  • Design processes relating to software and hardware asset management execute and enhance them

  • Establish and maintain documentation of procedures processes and reports concerning asset and configuration management

  • Create and execute governance and strategic asset management function

  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to determine trends in asset performance

  • Perform research on industry best practice and incorporate it with organizational practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with the implementation and optimization of an IT hardware and software Asset Management program within a large organization
