Job Description
Job Summary:
USA Rare Earth is seeking a skilled and experiencedIT Managerto lead and manage our companys technology infrastructure systems and support services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of IT services implementing technology solutions that drive efficiency and leading a team of IT professionals. This role combines technical expertise strategic planning and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department including collaborating and assigning work to ensure efficient management of our IT infrastructure applications help desk support and cybersecurity.
- Manage and mentor IT staff providing guidance performance evaluations and professional development.
- Develop and implement IT policies procedures and best practices aligned with business goals.
- Plan and manage IT budgets ensuring cost-effective technology investments.
- Ensure the security of data network access and backup systems.
- Coordinate system updates upgrades and migrations with minimal disruption to operations.
- Collaborate with departments to identify technology needs and recommend scalable solutions.
- Evaluate and manage relationships with vendors service providers and consultants.
- Stay updated on the latest technology trends and assess their applicability to the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related field (Masters degree a plus).
- 10 years of experience in IT management or a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of IT systems infrastructure networking and security.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) and enterprise software.
- Proven project management skills and familiarity with methodologies like Agile or ITIL.
- Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA PMP CISSP ITIL) are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ERP systems and database management.
- Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g. SOX NIST)
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
Physical Demands
The work environment will be a mix of a typical office environment a manufacturing floor and a construction level: Normal office manufacturing and construction noises.
