Controls Technician Intern, APAC Controls Deployment and Service

The Data Center Capacity Delivery Asia-Pacific Controls Deployment and Service (DCCD APAC CDS) team delivers and services the control systems which monitor and ensure the health of our data centers. APAC CDS mission is to safely provide our customers with the unmatched reliability security and performance that AWS is known for. APAC CDS covers three core disciplines of controls deployments controls projects and controls service with associated sub-disciplines of colocated controls on-call support and governance.

Controls Deployment & Service (CDS) Technicians support data center building automation systems such as Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS). CDS technicians work to deploy and service building automation systems to ensure the health of our data centers. As a CDS Technician you will join the team in the deployment of a new BMS or EPMS as part of a new data center build support projects to upgrade an existing data center owned or leased by Amazon or deliver projects to upgrade colocated data centers with Amazon hardware. You will work on providing local servicing to our fleet or data centers in your region.

As an intern you will be working on projects and service work mission critical to the health of the internet. You will be assigned to be part of a team who will help you in identifying project goals inspire and mentor you and support your professional development.


Key job responsibilities
* Learn fundamental data center operations
* Learn fundamentals of BMS and EPMS
* Learn about core CDS disciplines of deployment projects and service
* Complete assigned training modules on AWS and our data center systems
* Shadow experienced engineers during routine tasks
* Participate in monitoring and testing of BMS and EPMS
* Investigate and attempt resolution of service incidents by diagnosing and troubleshooting BMS and EPMS

1. Education - Currently enrolled in tertiary studies in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics or similar discipline

Please note: To be eligible for this program you will need to be available for the full internship period from 1 Dec 2025 - 20 Feb 2026.

This role is based in Melbourne and will require the commitment of successful candidates to be based in Melbourne for the duration of the internship.

1. Engineering systems: Good understanding of electrical mechanical or automation theory
2. Engineering documentation: Be able to read and understand technical drawings or schematics
3. Troubleshooting: Be able to troubleshoot basic engineering problems
