Packaging Technician

Placon is a leader in sustainable thermoformed packaging with over 50 years of innovation and manufacturing excellence. As a Packing Technician youll operate and maintain thermoforming equipment to produce high-quality plastic packaging in a clean fast-paced production environment.

This hands-on role is essential to ensure safe efficient and accurate machine operation with a focus on continuous improvement product quality and team collaboration.

AVAILABLE WORK SHIFTS:

Rotating Day Shift: 12-hours 6 AM - 6 PM (2 on 2 off 3 on)

Rotating Night Shift: 12-hours 6 PM - 6 AM (2 on 2 off 3 on)

1st Shift: 7 AM - 3 PM Monday - Friday

2nd Shift: 3 PM - 11 PM Monday - Friday

3rd Shift: 11 PM - 7 AM Monday - Friday

Weekend ONLY Days: 12-hour 6 AM - 6 PM (Work 36 hours and be paid for 40 hours)

Weekend ONLY Nights: 12-hour 6 PM - 6 AM (Work 36 hours and be paid for 40 hours)

**Shift premium available for select work shifts

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for accurately packaging and preparing parts for shipment in accordance with part specification drawings.
• Ensures proper labeling documentation and handling of materials to maintain product integrity and support efficient operations
• Review finished materials using gauges and calipers to verify product quality and report nonconforming materials
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain a clean organized workspace
• Using a computer document shift data production counts and downtime accurately
• Wear proper PPE and follow all OSHA and company safety procedures
• Communicate effectively during shift hand-offs and team coordination
• Support cross-functional teams (quality maintenance materials) and continuous improvement initiatives
• Read and follow written work instructions and job specs in English
• Other duties as assigned to support operations

REQUIREMENTS

• 1 year of manufacturing or related experience
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working in a manufacturing environment
• Deal with conflict and handle discord
• Ability to read write and speak English at a defined proficiency level to meet training safety and quality requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Frequent lifting of 15-30 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs. for tools and materials

• Stand bend twist and climb throughout 12-hour shifts in a high-speed manufacturing environment
