Job Summary

The Commissions Accounting Assistant supports the processing of commission payments financial transactions and administrative functions within the

Commissions department. This role requires strong attention to detail problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a

fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly and monthly commission payouts for various insurance carriers.

  • Support agents via phone and email regarding commission payments and inquiries.

  • Communicate with insurance carriers to resolve commission discrepancies (e.g. incorrect/missing payments policy issues).

  • Maintain detailed documentation of commission-related inquiries and resolutions.

  • Assist with invoice processing accounts receivable and payment tracking.

  • Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.

  • Handle sensitive agent and client information with discretion and confidentiality.

  • Perform data entry filing and other administrative finance tasks.

  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing issues.

  • Learn and navigate the organizations custom database system.

  • Provide backup support to the Commission Team Lead as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with CMS guidelines related to commission practices.

Primary Skills & Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills required.

  • Strong deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills.

  • High attention to detail and organizational ability.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to perform tasks independently and accurately with minimal supervision.

  • Familiarity with insurance industry and commission processes preferred.
