Job Description
Sparta High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our collaborative secondary team. We are looking for an educator who values teamwork thrives in a Professional Learning Community (PLC) and is committed to fostering a student-centered learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned with Michigan state standards
Collaborate with colleagues in PLC teams to plan curriculum analyze data and enhance instruction
Participate fully in the PLC process to ensure high levels of learning for all students
Build a positive inclusive classroom culture that supports academic and personal growth
Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
Communicate effectively with students families and staff
Support the broader school community through involvement in professional development and school-wide initiatives
Qualifications:
Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate with an English (BA) endorsement secondary certification highly preferred.
Strong commitment to collaborative practices and ongoing professional learning
Demonstrated ability to create a student-centered classroom environment
Willingness to engage in the PLC process and contribute to a team-focused culture
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching at the high school level
Knowledge of data-informed instruction and formative assessment practices
Interest in contributing to co-curricular programs clubs or athletics
