Role Overview

Coupang is seeking a seasoned security leader with deep experience insecurity policyAI governance andenterprise-level governance strategyto join the Security Governance team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of security risk and business enablementand who can take on broader leadership responsibilities within the Security Governance function as the team evolves.

You will play a central role in shaping Coupangs security governance framework driving policy management overseeing governance for emerging technologies like AI and collaborating cross-functionally across regions and subsidiaries. Were looking for someone who can translate complex security and regulatory requirements into scalable business-aligned programs that strengthen security posture while enabling innovation.

What You Will Do

• Lead and evolve Coupangs enterprise security governance framework including policies standards and procedures that align with business priorities and regulatory obligations.

• Drive the development and implementation ofAI governanceand responsible use frameworks in collaboration with stakeholders across Legal Tech and Compliance.

• Act as the owner of Coupangssecurity policy lifecycle ensuring policies remain relevant accessible and effectively adopted.

• Partner with InfoSec Legal and Business leadership to establish and scale governance models.

• Contribute to high-impact strategic programs such asdata retentionand thebusiness-centric service catalogthrough structured governance operations.

• Monitor internal needs industry standards and regulatory trends to proactively improve Coupangs governance framework.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in information security policy law risk management or a related field.

• 10 years of experience in information security security governance or compliancewith a proven track record of leading cross-functional governance initiatives.

• Expertise insecurity policy developmentAI risk management andglobal compliance frameworks.

• Strong collaboration skills and experience working with Legal Compliance Engineering and senior business leaders.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex policy and governance topics to a broad audience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a high-growth multinational or tech-driven environment.

• Experience in a leadership or team-building role within a governance GRC or InfoSec function.

• Industry certifications such asCISSPCIPPCISACRISC or equivalent.

• Familiarity withGRC toolsand documentation platforms likeConfluence orSharePoint.

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $138000/year in our lowest geographic market to $297000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience.
