Archive Project Officer (Hall Marks) 8494 Fixed Term Contract until 31st December 2026 37 hours per week 30559 to 32654 per annum Grade G Norwich

The Norfolk Record Office is looking for someone to help deliver its exciting project Hall Marks: The Long Shadows of Norfolks Lost Country Houses. Using the Offices extensive archival collections the project will look at the impact of Norfolks lost estates of which there are over a hundred. Using lost country houses and their estates as a starting point the project will also support the public to research a home of any size land or local area and to a improve access to a key resource for such research. The projects main funder is The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The primary role of the successful candidate will promote plan and deliver engagement and wellbeing activities. These will include workshops on how to trace the history of a house village or area; a multi-session programme of workshops which take an in-depth look at Norfolks lost country houses and estates including their impact on the rural and urban landscape; and the curation of an exhibition at the Norfolk Record Office which showcases its archive holdings which relate to lost country houses and estates. The successful candidate will also contribute to the running of the projects volunteer programmes.

We are looking for someone with experience of delivering outreach education and/or wellbeing events. You must be able to work collaboratively and have strong communication and organisational skills. You must have experience of how to undertake local history research or a willingness to learn quickly how to do so.
