Job Description
Placon is a leader in thermoformed packaging with over 50 years of manufacturing innovation and excellence. As a Machine Operator youll be hands-on with the production process-operating equipment ensuring product quality and supporting a clean and safe manufacturing environment.
AVAILABLE WORK SHIFTS:
Rotating Day Shift: 12-hours 6 AM - 6 PM (2 on 2 off 3 on)
Rotating Night Shift: 12-hours 6 PM - 6 AM (2 on 2 off 3 on)
1st Shift: 7 AM - 3 PM Monday - Friday
2nd Shift: 3 PM - 11 PM Monday - Friday
3rd Shift: 11 PM - 7 AM Monday - Friday
Weekends ONLY Days: 12-hour 6 AM - 6 PM (Work 36 hours and be paid for 40 hours)
Weekend ONLY Nights: 12-hour 6 PM - 6 AM (Work 36 hours and be paid for 40 hours)
**Shift premium available for select work shifts**
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up operate and monitor packaging assembly equipment to meet production targets
- Load materials and components at workstations; lift up to 50 lbs. regularly (team lift required over 50 lbs.)
- Visually inspect components and finished products for quality; complete all required documentation
- Perform basic equipment maintenance cleaning and preventive checks
- Use tools such as utility knives Allen wrenches pallet jacks scales and Oracle software
- Follow SOPs quality standards (SPC GMP) and safety procedures
- Keep work areas clean and organized; perform housekeeping and 5S duties
- Support smooth shift transitions with clear communication and documentation
- Assist in training new team members and collaborating with production staff
- Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent standing bending reaching and twisting
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months or more of machine operation or a role that demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude
- Deal with conflict and handle discord
- Ability to read write and speak English at a defined proficiency level to meet training safety and quality requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent lifting of 15-50 lbs.; occasionally up to 80 lbs. (team lift) for tools and materials
- Stand bend twist and climb throughout 12-hour shifts in a high-speed manufacturing environment
