We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis II specializing in Tandoor Cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru India. As a key member of our kitchen staff you will assist in preparing authentic Indian dishes with a focus on tandoor specialties while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of tandoor dishes including breads meats and vegetables
- Maintain and operate the tandoor oven ensuring proper temperature control and cooking techniques
- Prepare and portion ingredients for tandoor dishes according to recipes and chef instructions
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards in all aspects of food handling and preparation
- Assist in kitchen organization including inventory management and cleanliness
- Support senior chefs in menu development and special culinary projects
- Continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge of Indian cuisine
Qualifications :
- Culinary diploma or equivalent culinary education
- 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen preferably with Indian cuisine
- Proficiency in tandoor cooking techniques and equipment handling
- In-depth knowledge of Indian spices ingredients and cooking methods
- Strong knife skills and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards; food safety certification preferred
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy cookware
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
