Assists the Aquatics Manager and Aquatic Coordinator with all pool activities. This includes supervision of swim lessons facilities and staff. This position will lifeguard as assigned and is very flexible in working schedule ensuring safety and standards are met at all time. He / She is responsible for enforcing Family Wellness rules policies and safety procedures for members guests and employees.
Schedule:
12:00pm-8:00pm M-Th
Saturday 8:30am-12pm
Job Specific Competencies:
Lifeguards when necessary mostly during afternoon/Swim Lesson shifts
Provides direct daily supervision of aquatics and staff to assure a high standard of safety and cleanliness and department objectives are being met.
Monitors swimming lesson activities communicates with parents and supervises all staff.
Provides coverage for all aquatics activities to ensure all shifts are covered.
Assists the Aquatics Manager with staff recruitment reviews certifications staff development and lifeguard skill checks.
Serves as a backup for instructing swimming lessons.
Understands and maintains knowledge and understanding of aquatic department and Family Wellness policies and procedures.
Performs office-related duties in preparation for swimming lessons and other aquatic programming.
Demonstrates the ability to effectively manage and resolve onsite issues and customer complaints maintaining a high level of service quality and customer satisfaction.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education Experience & Skills (Minimum Requirement):
Two years combined experience as a lifeguard swim instructor or working with kids required.
Licensure/Certification Requirement(s):
American Red Cross certification in Lifeguarding CPR/AED and First Aid required upon hire.
Family Wellness swimming lesson instructor training will be provided upon hire including classroom and in-water instruction and shadow teaching with experienced instructors.
American Red Cross Instructor certification in Lifeguarding and First Aid/CPR/AED preferred or willingness to earn within the first 6 months.
