Job Summary
The Assistant Coach Wrestling will assist in training administering and preparing the Wrestling Team for success on the conference and national level. Oversee all aspects of team travel event management & promotion and monitor the academic progress for the program. Successful candidate will demonstrate the Wrestling Programs team mission of Bringing the H.E.A.T. (heart effort attitude team). Specific responsibilities to be assigned under the direction of the Head Wrestling Coach.
Essential Functions
- Assist the Head Coach all aspects of leading an effective varsity athletic program.
- Assist in coaching training and motivating the Programs student-athletes to perform at the highest level through organized team and individual sessions.
- Foster an environment within the program that supports the departments mission of personal growth and integrity diversity leadership sportsmanship respect and a commitment to academic and athletic excellence.
- Maintain an understanding of and abide to NCAA EIWA and University rules and regulations.
- Organize and manage day to day recruiting operations including scout and identify prospects; act as liaison for Compliance in regard to Admissions Financial Aid & Housing.
- Act as teams travel coordinator in conjunction with Athletics business office organizing visits and scouting events/visits transportation accommodations itineraries meals and practice.
- Assist with continued and established fundraising and development efforts and initiatives for the Program including Day of Giving/phone-a-thon.
- Provide event management including promotion of home matches alumni events (socials golf outings etc.)
- Create and implement a marketing plan for all home events including assisting with Social Media for program.
- Work with equipment office to order curate and distribute all team gear and coordinating all team equipment.
- Assist with the organization and publicity of camps and clinics.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelors Degree orthe equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Valid Drivers License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules.
- Collegiate wrestling experience.

This position is classified as Exempt. Compensation for this grade canvary based on thesuccessful candidates qualifications and experience department budget and an internal equity review.
