Elevation Healthcare is seeking a dedicatedMiddle School Science Teacherto join a school districts team for theacademic year. All applicants must hold a valid South Carolina Educator Certificate with appropriate middle-level science certification or be elementary certified teacher.

Responsibilities
- Cooperate in developing a program of continuous progress consistent with district goals and student needs.
- Stay current with changes in curriculum district policies and best practices.
- Establish clear and appropriate objectives for all classroom activities and communicate them to students.
- Use instructional methods and materials best suited to meet those objectives.
- Regularly assess student performance and provide timely progress reports.
- Analyze individual student progress and seek appropriate support when needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues on instructional planning and student support strategies.
- Foster a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students developmental levels.
- Supervise and evaluate teacher aides or volunteers as applicable.
- Prepare effective plans for substitute teachers and evaluate their effectiveness when needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians through meetings calls or written correspondence.
- Be accessible to students and parents for academic support when required or reasonably requested.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by law and district policy.
- Take necessary steps to protect students and care for school property and materials.
- Enforce school rules and policies consistently and fairly.
- Demonstrate punctuality and responsibility in all assigned duties.
- Participate in implementing district-wide and school-specific policies for student conduct.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops conferences or coursework.
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to school activities and committees as requested.
- Maintain a high standard of attendance and professionalism.
- Follow appropriate communication channels per district policy.
- Represent Spartanburg District Five Schools positively and professionally at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Education (Science or related field preferred)
- Valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate or eligibility to obtain one (Middle-Level or elementary)
- Prior school-based or teaching experience preferred
