Job Summary

This highly regarded Independent Co-educational School in Camden is seeking a dynamic and highly capable Computer Science Teacher to join its forward-thinking department. This is a full-time temporary contract commencing in January 2026 for a fixed period of three terms. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering a challenging curriculum with a strong emphasis on programming and theoretical knowledge up to A-Level.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver challenging practical lessons in Computer Science fostering advanced competency in programming algorithms and complex theoretical concepts.
  • Teach high-level programming and concepts ensuring academic standards are exceptional and preparing students for the rigours of university-level technology courses.
  • Co-ordinate and organise the effective utilisation of the schools cutting-edge computing facilities and digital learning platforms.
  • Track student progress relentlessly ensuring differentiated teaching and targeted support drives outstanding achievement across mixed-gender classes.
  • Contribute actively to the schools digital life potentially running an advanced coding app development or robotics club.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
  • Proven track record teaching programming and theoretical Computer Science concepts to a high standard ideally up to A-Level.
  • Masterful technical and subject knowledge coupled with a drive to stay current with rapid technological and curriculum developments.
  • Strong classroom management and exceptional organisational skills for practical lab-based teaching.
  • Enthusiasm for pedagogical innovation and collaboration within a technologically advanced department.
