Qualifications:
- Preferred: Associate Degree in Early Education Child Development or related field and at least one-year experience working with young children in a group setting.
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent and one-year experience working with young children in a group setting.
- Be WVSTARS eligible and willing to complete registration pre-service (one time) and a minimum of 15 applicable STARS training hours must be completed and maintained yearly.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain effective supervision and model appropriate behavior including social skills proper hygiene and enthusiasm for learning.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate lesson plans developmental assessment and maintaining a positive and enriching classroom environment.
- Follow appropriate steps in order to report any suspected abuse/neglect or concerns as required by law.
- Assist with maintaining relevant records and paperwork for the site sign-in/out sheets daily census cleaning logs etc.
- Training as required by licensing including but not limited to; child abuse/ neglect detection first aid and CPR CPI Food Handlers and STARS.
- Complete required human resources checks including but not limited to; WVCARES background checks CPS physicals TB/PPD risk assessment etc.
- Attend staff meetings and supervision meetings with Program Director as scheduled.
- Flexibility in hours and days to allow for programming needs.
Schedule:
- 28 hours per week part-time during the school year summers off. Opportunity to work in our residential facility during holidays and summer months.
